US$1.16bn

Brazil's toy and sports-goods imports (HS 95)

ComexStat, 2025

What Brazil buys

Brazil imported US$11.0 billion of plastics and plastic articles (HS 39) and US$1.16 billion of toys (HS 95) in 2025, and Bangladesh supplied US$1.23 million and US$0.93 million of them (ComexStat, 2025). Both are large markets where Bangladesh has barely started. Household and industrial plastics are among BBCCI's focus areas, plastics and packaging are on its sector list for the next edition, and Aman Plastic Toys Industries exhibited in São Paulo in 2025, so Brazilian buyers have already met Bangladeshi toy makers.

Rules to know

Plastic tableware and household articles pay 16.2% applied duty, and toys pay 20%, with one line at 18% (Camex tariff schedule, Oct 2026). Some plastics lines are on Brazil's temporary tariff-increase list, so check the exact NCM code before quoting. Toys, like bicycles, helmets and electrical goods, are subject to INMETRO conformity assessment, with testing generally done in Brazil. Imported products must carry Portuguese labels, and the Brazilian buyer must be an importer enabled in Siscomex.

How to win Brazilian buyers

Price certification into the offer. For toys, INMETRO testing adds cost and time before the first shipment can be sold, so tell the buyer how you will handle it and who will pay. Bring the test reports and material specifications you already have; they help a Brazilian partner plan the certification. For household plastics, show durable ranges that pack and ship efficiently, and give the NCM code for every item so the buyer can confirm the duty and any temporary increase. A short, well-chosen range with clear prices, minimum quantities and lead times will do more at the stand than a large catalogue.
